Las Vegas-style slot machines to be accepted in Florida

A federal agency might allow the Seminoles Tribe of Florida to have Las Vegas-style machines in their casinos, even if the state doesn’t allow it. The Department of Interior has proposed 28 procedure pages indicating how to administrate the slot machines. The agency said that it could have a list of regulations towards the end of November if the tribe doesn’t reach an agreement with the state.

The Seminoles asked the Department of Interior, in charge of the supervision of Indian affaires, to intervene after the tribe and the governor didn’t reach and agreement.

Atlantic City casinos to host slots tournament

The Resorts Atlantic City and the Atlantic City Hilton Casino Resort is hosting a winner-takes-all slots tournament with a $1 million jackpot. The qualifying rounds began this week and will continue until November 25th, the day of the grand finale at the Hilton.

As explained by Phil Juliano, Regional Senior Vice President of Marketing for Resorts and the Hilton, the winner will have to choose between a 25-year annuity worth a million dollars or an immediate cash payment of $500,000.
