The owner of two video casinos remained at large Monday night after police raided one of his businesses earlier in the day for allegedly paying out cash prizes.
In the largest seizure of the year, police confiscated 92 video gambling machines at the Palace Arcade, Boulevard. Police said the casino was closed and the machines had been emptied of their cash when they executed their search warrant shortly before noon.

Slot machine measure
The Republican-dominated Legislature voted last night to reform Pennsylvania's new slot machine law by removing the "1 percent loophole," a much-criticized provision that permits state lawmakers and other politicians to own up to 1 percent of a casino or gambling company.
But the battle over the new law is probably not over, because Democrats from both the House and Senate are urging Gov. Ed Rendell, a Democrat, to veto a GOP amendment that gets rid of the 1 percent loophole but also makes other changes that Democrats don't like.
Slot Machine History
An American invention, slots have since become very popular all around the world. The most notable places include Europe, Africa, South America, Asia, and the Caribbean. As a 29 year-old Mechanic, Charles Fey manufactured the first reels for gaming in 1887, a heck of a long time ago. San Francisco was the town to be in if you were a precognitive slots momma at the turn of century, and what fun it would be to be there now. The first machines were manufactured by hand by Fey himself and placed in the local gambling palaces on a 50% rental basis. So in addition to being the inventor, Fey was also the first proprietor of the machines.
