The first slot machines, including names like Mr. Cashman and Sun & Moon, arrived at Harrah’s Chester Casino and Racetrack this week. On Monday, 192 units were received and another 275 were delivered on Tuesday.
“We are at a great point being able to accept machines. It means we received all the approvals we needed at the state, county and city level. It’s a huge step and I’m anxious to see this floor come together,” Brian Dolan, director of slot products and service at Harrah’s said.
Harrah’s 115,000-square-foot gaming venue is expected to open by mid-January and it will feature 2,750 slot machines, most of the video variety. “Even on our first day of harness racing people were looking for slot machines and constantly asking when they would be ready,” Mr. Dolan explained. “There is a big expectation for what we will be able to deliver in January.”
Harrah’s Chester Casino will also include six restaurants, a banquet area and three lounges. It will employ more than 100 people, including technical staff.
