Dorothy G. Adcox of Brandon, MS was considering switching slot machines when she won the second largest MegaJackpots(TM) grand prize in state history.
Adcox was in a state of disbelief after Mississippi Gaming Commission
officials and IGT technicians verified her winnings.
"My heart is fluttering, and I can barely stand up," a shocked and happy Adcox said, still trying to fully consider that she had just become an instant multi-millionaire.
Adcox, who said she always plays Wheel of Fortune® themed machines, had wagered $100 before hitting the monumental jackpot. She added she "loves the staff" at the Ameristar Casino for their friendly nature, making the Mississippi facility one of her favorite gaming destinations.
In addition to paying off her bills, Adcox said she plans to take care of her aging mother and provide her with 24-hour assisted living care.
"This money helps me and my family tremendously," Adcox said. "There will be a lot less stress in my life as a result of it."
Adcox is the eighth MegaJackpots(TM) winner in Mississippi this year, bringing the state's total prize winnings to more than $19.8 million.
The Wheel of Fortune® progressive slot machine on which Adcox won her grand prize is based on the popular television game show, "Wheel of Fortune®." The jackpot is paid when a player plays the maximum bet ($3) and lines up all three winning symbols on the appropriate pay line. After the jackpot is verified, the Wheel of Fortune® meter is reset at $1,000,000. Wheel of Fortune® is one of 16 Mississippi MegaJackpots(TM) systems operated by IGT, a world leader in the manufacturing of gaming machines and proprietary software for progressive gaming systems. All IGT MegaJackpots(TM) awards are paid in annual installments upon verification, except MegaJackpots(TM) Instant Winners(TM) jackpots and Rapid Riches MegaJackpots(TM) awards, which are paid in their entirety upon verification. Wheel of Fortune® is a registered trademark of Califon Production Inc.
