Mayor Freddy Bernal went to the place that was closed by the authorities and which did not have a permit from the National Casinos Commission or from the municipality.
Bernal explained that the casino “had no license but only a registration as contributor that had expired and only authorized them to operate as a restaurant”, he said.
In the place, according to the information given in a press communication released by the Mayoralty of Caracas, 109 slot machines and several types of roulette machines were found.
The Mayor pointed out that the venue was sanctioned with closure, fined according to the law and the machines were seized. He added that the owners will be called and if they don’t prove the legality of the import or the manufacture of the machines, they will move forward with the process of confiscation and destruction.
“They will have to make themselves present and explain the situation as well as pay the fine”, Bernal said and he added that the measure was part of the “policy on the fight against everything illegal in the city council, that being casinos, or brothels or any other place with those characteristics, that are functioning without the proper permissions”.
