The government of Guatemala, with the help of the national civil police, has counted the number of slot machines that were seized in the capital city of the country.

The authorities of the departmental government based the slot machines decommission on article 474 of the penal code, which prohibits chance games. Besides, they pointed out that this kind of games tend to create addiction in kids and young children, which has an impact that is very negative for their studies.

The machines seized were moved to the Public Ministry, in order to investigate their owners, who will have to answer to justice tribunals. The national civil police has pointed out that they will continue with the slot machines decommission program.

The 21st zone of the capital city is where most of the slot machines have been found, the owners offer 35% of the gaining to the owners of the shops in exchange for having the machines there.
